The Toronto Blue Jays are back in the American League Championship Series for a second consecutive year and are hoping for a different result.
The Blue Jays swept the Texas Rangers, which had the best regular season record in the AL, in the divisional series. Now they will try to take down the second best regular season team—the Cleveland Indians.
The Blue Jays have a strong batting lineup that features Josh Donaldson (.284), Edwin Encarnacion (.263), Jose Bautista (.234) and Troy Tulowitzki (.254). Toronto will face a good Cleveland pitching staff, led by ace Corey Kluber (18-9), who will start Game 1 against Toronto’s Marco Estrada (9-9).
Cleveland will also rely on its bullpen, led by left-hander Andrew Miller, to shut down the Blue Jays’ offense.
Indians manager Terry Francona will have to play all the right cards to stop the red hot Blue Jays. If not, I can see Toronto winning this series in six.
