On a dreary Saturday afternoon, Atlanta United secured their spot in the Eastern Conference Semifinal with a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution. This is when Kings become legends.
I was on the fence about attending the first playoff game but I’m glad I did. Outside of Atlanta Hawks games, attending United games are my second favorite. While I’m always #TrueToAtlanta, I have to admit that United has the best fanbase in the city. Their fans see them through and it doesn’t hurt that their team is a WINNING team.
The energy that fills the Mercedes-Benz Stadium never loses it’s intensity. How did the United organization make sure the energy for the first playoff game started on a high note? They called in the best to ever do it, wrestling icon Ric Flair. As a pregame ritual, Ric hammered the golden spike and the rest was history.

I’m not sure what’s going on with our other sports teams. The Falcons, Hawks and Braves can never seem to get it right….almost never counts. Sorry to these teams.
If you’re looking for a team to believe in, look no further than the Five Stripes. Whether it’s luck, fate or a mixture of both that’s on United’s side, I hope it carries them to winning another championship. The city that’s too busy to hate deserves.
The semifinal game takes place in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Thursday, October 24th at 8pm.
