Best 3 SEC Games This Weekend

www.bleacherreport.com

It’s the 3rd Saturday in October, so if you are a die-hard SEC college football fan…then you know it is Alabama vs. Tennessee game.   This game is always a huge standout game in the SEC.  There have been some really great games between Bama and Tenn, but not so much fanfare in recent years.  However, Alabama is undefeated and Tennessee with only one loss.  It feels like the 3rd Saturday in October again.   Here are my top 3 games in the SEC this weekend.

Missouri vs. Florida-4 pm- SEC Network

Both teams are coming off bye weeks; Florida had on unintentional one and his was Mizzou bye week.  Mizzou QB Drew Lock leads the SEC in passing yards and has 14 TD passes on the season.  Lock will be throwing against a very solid Florida defense.  The Gators’ defense has played well this season expect for the game against Tennessee. On the defensive side of the ball, Florida are holding opposing teams QB’s to a 39.0 completion rate.  Florida QB Luke Del Rio will be returning this game after missing two.  Del Rio’s return will help the Florida offense move the ball.

Ole Miss vs. Arkansas-7pm- ESPN

Last year Arkansas and Ole Miss went down to the wired, Arkansas winning 53-52.  Arkansas is coming off two losses from Texas A&M and Alabama where the Razorbacks’ rushing attack was shut down. So, Ole Miss will have to stop the run to make Arkansas one-dimensional in this game. The Razorback will need a good production from RB Rawleigh Williams III.  Now, Ole Miss is giving up about 215 rushing yards per game.  Both the Rebels and Razorbacks have solid QBs in Chad Kelly and Austin Allen to make plays for the offense. I expected this to be an interesting game. Arkansas has won two in a row in this series.

Alabama vs. Tennessee-3:30 p.m.- CBS

Once again, it’s the 3rd Saturday in October-Alabama vs Tennessee.  Tennessee is coming off a double-overtime loss from Texas A&M. The Vols turned over the ball 6 or 7 times and took the game into overtime twice, but the “Comeback Kids” luck ran out.  Alabama is coming off a win over Arkansas, but have Texas A&M up next.  The Vols have a habit of playing from behind and coming back to win or take a game into overtime. Once again, I say that Tennessee needs to start fast against the Alabama defense.  Tennessee will need a big game from Dobbs, Hurd, and Kamara to pull off the win against Alabama.  The Crimson Tide dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts has been impressive to the offense.  The Vols’ defense struggle with the mobile quarterback play of Trevor Knight last week.  Will Jalen Hurts be able to do the same to Tennessee this week?  Alabama has won nine games in row in the series. Hopefully this Bama and Tennessee matchup will bring the fanfare back to the 3rd Saturday in October.
