I have a question to ask you: “How many college football running back duos can you think of?”
Hmmmm not many right?
A running back duo that instantly comes to my mind is here down south in Statesboro, Georgia. This duo are the faces of the 2016 Georgia Southern football team. The best running back duo I am writing about was voted by fans on twitter and allow me to introduce them to you: Matt Breida and L.A. Ramsby. NCAAF Nation (@NCAAFNation247) were the ones that created the bracket.
The bracket included sixteen teams and Georgia Southern was the fourteenth seed. In the first round, Georgia Southern got the duo of Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice from LSU. Georgia Southern received 68% of the votes. Next up was the duo of Wayne Gallman and Adam Choice from Clemson. Georgia Southern received 72% of the votes. In the final four, Georgia Southern faced the number one seed Nick Chubb and Sony Michel of Georgia. Georgia beat us in overtime last year and they are the number one seed in this bracket so this would be another loss right?
Not this time! Georgia Southern received 55% of the votes and moved on to the championship round. In the championship round, it was Georgia Southern versus Pittsburgh with their duo being James Conner and Qadree Ollison. Georgia Southern wins with 66% of the votes and we beat Georgia! This poll is hard to argue with when Bredia had 1,608 net rushing yards on 203 attempts with 17 touchdowns while Ramsby had a net total of 820 rushing yards on 166 attempts with 13 touchdowns. Imagine what they will do this college football season. It’s going to be very exciting and worth watching. Tune in and enjoy the show.
Hail Southern and No Place Else!
