CFB Top Five #FansFavorite Things

This past weekend of College Football was RIVALRY TIME! Some of the top rivals played against each other and here are our Top Five of Game day Saturday!

5) No IRISH blessing

It’s plays like this that every FAN dreads in life. You know you’re team is winning and they’ve controlled the tempo of the game. It is a minute or two left in the game and you never thought that the other team would do what they’re about to do. Stanford beat Notre Dame by making a 45 yard field goal with the time expiring in the game. DID YOU READ THAT???? They beat them with a field goal kick #AllKickersMatter

“We’re two plays away from being undefeated and being the No. 1 team in the country,” coach Brian Kelly said. “One play at Clemson and one play here at Stanford.” WELP sorry Irish Fans but the college football gods didn’t smile on your playoff dreams this year. Better luck next season.

4) The Apple Cup

The Apple Cup has been a showdown between the University of Washington Huskies and the Washington State University Cougars as they vie for state supremacy for 115 years. Washington beat #20 ranked Washington State in this rivalry game 45-10. Washington is bowl eligible and Washington State is still able to attend a bowl game. This is what rivalries are about. Beat the ranking off of your rival!

Auburn Alums that were at the Iron Bowl this year was Apple CEO Tim Cook, former NFL legend Bo Jackson, current NFL phenom Cam Newton and a few others. One name ran all over the Auburn defense in Auburn, Alabama and it was Running Back Derrick Henry of Alabama. Henry set a school-record 46 rushes for 271 yards against Auburn and this is the third-most in a game for a BAMA back and the most against the Tigers. How about that for a Heisman trophy winner… I mean candidate! The Iron Bowl is always a rivalry game that you have to witness for yourself to understand why the citizens of Alabama dislike each other so much. Put this on your sports fan bucket list & thank us later 🙂

A new generation of this rivalry game was born on November 28, 2015. Meyer vs. Harbaugh. They were all smiles before the game but as you can see above after the game was a different image. Running Back Ezekiel Elliott proved why his post game rant last week had meaning to it: GIVE HIM THE BALL!!! Elliott ran for 214 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Post game stats for Heisman candidate Ezekiel Elliott according to

Elliott passed 1,500 rushing yards for the season

Joined the great Archie Griffin as the only players in Ohio State history with multiple seasons of 1,500 yards

This was his fifth career 200-yard game, tying him with Eddie George for most by a Buckeye.

With 3,812 rushing yards in his career, Elliott passed George for No. 2 on the school’s all-time rushing list and trails only two-time Heisman Trophy winner Griffin

Now how about those Gold Pants!!!

And the Number 1 Spot goes to…………

Please tell me that you are not one of the delusional college football fans out there still questioning Clemson’s rise! They continue to play by the “Bring Your Own Guts” motto and they are showing why they are number one. Clemson is undefeated and few times fans thought that an upset would happen on last Saturday. “We weren’t worried about the national championship,” Clemson QB DeShaun Watson said. “We were just worrying about this game, achieve one of our goals and be state champs and that’s what we did. The national championship will take care of itself.”
