In this year’s upcoming draft, it’s a tight race between two power big men, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Kentucky Wildcats and Jahlil Okafor of the 2015 NCAA Champions, Duke Blue Devils. An unnamed source spoke to Zagsblog, “The Minnesota Timberwolves have informed Karl-Anthony Towns that they will select him with the No. 1 pink in Thursday’s NBA Draft, a source close to Towns told SNY.TV.
The source also says, “Flip Saunders was big on Jahlil Okafor for a minute there and after Karl came in, he [Towns] decided to work out for them. He [Towns] only worked out for them and it’s a wrap.”
I reported in May that Okafor told the T’Wolves he did not want the team to draft him as their No. 1 pick, now this. Looks as though Towns will be picked No. 1 and the Lakers will draft up Okafor with the No. 2 selection.
