The NFL Season debuted last weekend and Mississippi State Athletics is making its presence known with their “From State to Sundays” billboards campaign for former Bulldogs in the NFL. This week’s recipient is fullback Malcolm Johnson of the Cleveland Browns. There will be six different billboards that will feature Johnson on Sunday as the Cleveland Browns take on the Baltimore Ravens at noon CT on CBS.
The Johnson billboards can be seen at these various locations around Cleveland on Sunday. The locations are:
Ontario Street
Carnegie Avenue
Lorain Avenue
West Third Street
East 14th Street
Johnson, a tight-end, while playing at Mississippi State was a part of the 2014 Bulldogs that reach the first-ever No. 1 ranking in school history. That particular Bulldog team had the most decorated player in Mississippi State school history at quarterback Dak Prescott.
As a Starkville, MS native and Mississippi State alum, I think this is a great marketing idea and definitely can be used as a recruiting tool for the Bulldogs. It is great national exposure for the program. The billboards provide great visibility for high school players in major cities and markets to potentially consider Mississippi State a program to play for in the SEC. There is a total of 19 Bulldogs in the NFL and 11 of the 19 are on active NFL rosters.
