This Wednesday Georgia Southern travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas to play the Arkansas State Red Wolves. This is their first time meeting since Georgia Southern moved to FBS. Georgia Southern and Arkansas State are coming off of a bye week. In Georgia Southerns’ latest game they were handed their first loss of the season by Western Michigan. Lucky for Georgia Southern this bye week has given them time to rest and get healthy once again. They were not happy about their loss and are looking to make a statement against the 0-4 Red Wolves. But don’t think Georgia Southern plans on taking Arkansas State very lightly, this is the SunBelt we are talking about and anybody can beat someone on any given day. The Eagles will be highly prepared and ready to play.
Even though Arkansas State has started the season 0-4, they are still the defending SunBelt Conference Champs. All they need is one game to turn their season around. So far this season, nothing has gone right for Arkansas State. The Red Wolves are only averaging 80 yards on the ground per game. While on the other side of the field, Georgia Southern is averaging 318 yards on the ground per game. Arkansas State defense will look to stop the Eagles powerful trio of running backs and also their quarterbacks that can make plays on their feet. I know the stats don’t match up or show so this could be an interesting game, but it’s Wednesday night. If you have nothing else to do turn on ESPN2 at 7 o’clock Eastern time to watch the game. I can see the Eagles flying high again. Don’t just go by my word watch and find out for yourselves. It should be a good game to watch.
Hail Southern and No Place Else!
