Georgia Southern at New Mexico State Preview

This Saturday Georgia Southern travels to Aggie Memorial Stadium in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Eagles will play the New Mexico State Aggies in their fourth SunBelt Conference game of the season. Even though Georgia Southern record is 3-3 they are 2-1 in the conference. The Eagles are somewhat in a must win game at this time of the season. If they were to win they still have a chance to become the SunBelt Champs but on the other hand if they lose the game then I’m not sure they can win the conference with two loses. The Eagles are looking to snap a three game road losing streak and get their running game back on track. If Georgia Southern can get the ground game back then they will be in good shape to make a run at the SunBelt Championship with their remaining schedule they still have two of the teams that aretied for first place left to play. Both of those games just happen to be at home for the Eagles another really good sign for a conference championship run.

New Mexico State (2-4) is undefeated at home this season and winless on the road. The Aggies defense is ranked 126th in the county currently. For New Mexico State if they get off to a fast start then they can ride their running back the rest of the game. A lot of yards could come on the ground this game. Georgia Southern and New Mexico State have met twice since 2014. The Eagles have won both of the meetings before but this is a new season. I would tune in to ESPN3 to follow this game at 8PM.

Hail Southern and No Place Else!
