Georgia Southern Heads to South Alabama

Week 2 of the college football season. Georgia Southern, 1-0, heads to Mobile, Alabama this week. It’s not only their first road game but also their first conference game of the season. The Eagles play the 1-0 South Alabama Jaguars. The Jaguars defeated Mississippi State last week 21-20 on the road. That’s a strong win for South Alabama to go on the road to face a SEC team and pull off a victory coming from behind. Georgia Southern is looking to make it three in a row against South Alabama. In 2014 when the Eagles first made the trip to Mobile to face the Jaguars they won 28-6. The following year, 2015, South Alabama came to Statesboro. Georgia Southern won 55-17 while rushing for 489 yards.

What will this year hold in the third battles of these two SunBelt opponents? I’m sure by now South Alabama knows Georgia Southern is going to run the ball, the question is can South Alabama stop the triple option? South Alabama linebacker Roman Buchanan came out and said, “They’ll beat you down if you don’t come to play.” The Eagles will have running back L.A. Ramsby back from a one game suspension. That means the running back duo of Matt Breida and L.A. Ramsby will be in the back field. This weeek should be a good test for the Georgia Southern Eagles on the road. The game is at 7:00 PM. You can watch it on ESPN 3 or listen in on GS Sports Network. Tune in to see if your Georgia Southern Eagles can go 2-0 in the season and 1-0 in the SunBelt.
