Georgia Southern (3-3) traveled to Atlanta to play their third road game in a row against in-state rival Georgia Tech (4-3). Georgia Tech started fast and broke a 58 yard run for their first touchdown of the day. Tech didn’t stop there at the end of the first quarter Georgia Southern was down 21 to 7. After that only a field goal, by Georgia Southern in the second quarter, was the only other scoring till the fourth quarter. When the fourth quarter rolled around both team’s offense was warmed up. It was a back and forth quarter. Tech started the scoring and Southern finished the scoring but it was not much help. Running back LA Ramsby only had nine yards on the ground but had the two touchdowns on the ground for Georgia Southern. Tech won the game 35-24.
Georgia Southern’s seniors haven’t lost three in a row till yesterday. From talking to a coach they are not happy about that. Hopefully that will motivate them the rest of the way through the season. From the stats of the game Georgia Southern’s run game has come to a stall. On 50 carries they only managed 167 yards. They had 168 yards in the air. Once again that’s not the Georgia Southern way. But on the bright side two of the three loses have not been conference games. Georgia Southern still has a very good chance to win the SunBelt Conference and get into a second straight bowl game. This must start Saturday when the Eagles travel to New Mexico to play New Mexico State at 8 PM.
Hail Southern and No Place Else!
