Georgia Southern soars past South Alabama

The Georgia Southern Eagles (2-0, 1-0) do what they do best and run past their competetion. Georgia Southern had 304 rushing yards while taking down South Alabama (1-1, 0-1) 24-9 Saturday. South Alabama started the scoring for the day with a field goal. Georgia Southern kicker Younghoe Yoo tied the game while a field goal of his own in the first quarter. After that the Eagles hit the ground running. The first touchdown came off a 1 yard run up the middle by running back L.A. Ramsby. This was the 10th straight game he has got in the end zone that he has played in. Quarterback Favian Upshaw lead the Eagles with 108 rushing yards. Also Upshaw has six compltions for 127 through the air. Georgia Southern have rushed for 724 yards in its first two game. This puts Georgia Southern in the top five in rushing offenses throught week two.


South Alabama only managed three field goals in the game by kicker Gavin Patterson. The Georgia Southern defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown since the first half of last years bowl game. This season they have only allowed nine points. In the first game of the season the defense shutout Savannah State.  Georgia Southern sits at 45 in CBS College Football Rankings. Georgia Southern recieved two Top 25 votes in this weeks Coaches Poll. The next game is this Saturday when Georgia Southern comes back to Paulson Stadium to take on Louisiana-Mornoe (1-1) at 6 PM. You can watch the game on ESPN 3. We’ll see if the offense can keep running over opponents and if the defense can keep the opponents out the end zone for another game.
