This Saturday ends the season for Georgia Southern as they play one last game at home versus Troy. It’s the senior’s last game so I would like to see them go out with one final win. It’s been a down year for the Eagles and they haven’t won since October 22nd when they defeated New Mexico State 22-19. The Eagles have lost four in a row, they are coming off a bye week to help them end the season in the win column. The good news for the Eagles is they rushed for 241 yards in their last loss against Georgia State. The Eagles, with a win, could break a three-way tie at the top of the Sun Belt Conference. If the Eagles pull off the upset Troy would not get a piece of the Sun Belt Conference title. If Troy does win the game and Arkansas State gets a victory over Texas State on Saturday night then there would be a three-way tie for the Sun Belt title. A win over Troy and knocking them out of a share of the Sun Belt title wouldn’t fix Georgia Southern’s season but it would make it a little better.
Troy has a four game winning streak on the road which is not good news for the Eagles. With a win, Troy can get to double-digit wins this season. These teams have history. Troy holds the all-time series lead at 10-5. The Eagles have won the last three, with a blow out victory last season 45-10. Anything can happen, both teams senior’s will be leaving it all on the field. Tune in to ESPN2 at noon to see a good battle.
Hail Southern and No Place Else!
