Georgia State Faces Baylor in NCAA Tournament

The Georgia State Panthers defeated Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt Tourament and advanced to the schools 3rd NCAA tournament appearance, the first time since 2001.

After their victory over Georgia Southern, Head Coach Ron Hunter was filled with so much joy and excitement he actually tore his own Achilles celebrating with his son RJ Hunter. According to the AJC, Coach Hunter will have surgery after the tournament.

The two time Sun Belt Champions will face the tough Baylor Bear in the second round on Thursday, March 19, 2015 on TBS in Jacksonville, Florida. This game will be filled with excitement but can the underdog Georgia State Panthers pull off the victory? I have hear many are picking the Baylor Bears but I know they haven’t had the opportunity to watch the Panthers as I have all season.

The Georgia State Panthers will fight from the tip off with their tough defense averaging just over 9 steals per game. Kevin Ware carried the team during the Sun Belt championship while GSU star guard RJ Hunter was in a scoring drought. I think Hunter will lead the Panthers to a second round victory and defeat the Baylor Bears.
