Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is back in the news.
Not for anything bad though.
Manziel re-enrolled at Texas A&M and will be taking online class from his Los Angeles home, according to Yahoo news.
Manziel enrolled as a senior and will be majoring in recreation, parks and tourism, the school said. It offered no further details, but the Dallas Morning News said he would be studying online from his home in Los Angeles.
Manziel, who was cut by the Browns in March, vowed to get his life in order after his recent run-in with the law.
He was indicted over a January incident in which he is accused of hitting, kidnapping and threatening to kill his former girlfriend. In a released statement made in April, Manziel said he is “hoping to take care of the issues in front of me right now so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016.”
Re-enrolling in school is a good step in showing NFL owners that he is serious about refocusing his priorities. Whether this is believable or not, at least Manziel is making an effort to get his life on the right path.
We’ll see if he will continue on this path.
