Atlanta deserves better.
It’s being reported that Maroon 5 will be performing the halftime show at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Ga.
What a bore.
Adam Levine and his children are going to have to bring out the hot fire if they want to receive rave reviews. The band does have collaborations with Cardi B on “Girls Like You,” Future on “Cold” and Adam Levine is featured on Big Boi’s latest album Boomiverse. What Atlanta artist will Maroon 5 bring out? While Cardi isn’t an Atlanta artist, she does reside here.
The NFL released a statement:
“It’s a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show. We are continuing to work with [longtime sponsor] Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show.”
I get it. The NFL and Super Bowl committee are targeting a much different demographic than that of the City of Atlanta. How can you have the biggest game of the season played in a Black city and give us Maroon 5? The NFL continues to drop the ball culturally but that’s another discussion for another day.
Are you looking forward to the halftime show?
