Let the free agency frenzy begin!
Beginning today, players agents were able to begin talks with NFL teams so that their clients could potentially have a new team. While the agents are able to start talks with teams, players can’t formally visit the teams until 3:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
The Minnesota Vikings have wasted no time in getting the ball rolling with some of their players. So far, they have signed DE Everson Griffen to a 5-year contract worth $42.5 million with $20 million guaranteed. It’s obvious that they had to make this signing, seeing as though long time Vikings player Jared Allen will not re-sign with the team and test free agency for the first time.
According to Fox Sports 1, the Vikings will also sign LB Jasper Brinkley to a one-year deal.
There are plenty of teams that are looking to fill roster holes via free agency. Only time will tell what their distinct needs are and if they choose to take free agency head on right now or wait until the draft and try to build some young talent.
