Miami (-3 1/2) vs Oakland (in London), 1pm, CBS, DirecTV 711

The Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has struggled mightily after the first game versus the Patriots. Only 56% completion rate, 74.1 QB rating and only averages 5.06 yards per pass attempt. You’d think there’s no chance for them to do anything offensively. The Raiders are equally inept. Miami is a 3 1/2 favorite in London. Given the Raiders historically bad offense, give me Miami 13-10. The fish win, but won’t cover!

Green Bay (-1 1/2) vs Chicago, 1pm, FOX, DirecTV 705

Rodgers vs Cutler. I like Green Bay’s QB better. Packers 31, Bears 28.

Buffalo vs Houston (-3), 1pm, CBS, DirecTV 709

Texans 21 – Buffalo 17.

Tennessee vs Indianapolis (-7), 1pm, CBS, DirecTV 710

Titans QB Jake Locker is questionable with a wrist. Charlie Whitehurst is the backup if Locker can’t go. I like the Colts big here 27-13.

Carolina vs Baltimore (-3 1/2), 1pm, CBS, DirecTV 708

Ravens 26 – Panthers 13

Detroit (-1) vs NY Jets, 1pm, FOX, DirecTV 706

Watching Geno Smith’s inconsistent play last week on Monday Night Football made people wonder if Jets coach Rex Ryan will call on backup Michael Vick. However, the Jets coach doubled down and hedged his bets with the 2nd year starter from West Virginia. This will be a tough matchup with the Lions coming town. You would think a team with Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush and others would come in and run roughshod. The fact is the Detroit Lions are the most inconsistent team in the National Football League. At times they are immature. At times they are petulant. At times, they look like the best team in the sport. However, I will go the other way! I’m calling for a mild upset with the New York Jets beating the Lions 24-17 in the Meadowlands!

Tampa Bay vs Pittsburgh (-7), 1pm, FOX, DirecTV 707

Injuries for the Steelers: Linebacker Ryan Shazier is out with a knee injury. Cornerback Ike Taylor is out with a forearm injury. Buccaneers QB Josh McCown is doubtful with a right thumb injury. Vincent Jackson and Doug Martin are both probable for the Bucs. I like Pittsburgh in this spot. Tampa does have lots to play for considering the demolition the Falcons gave them 10 days ago. The Bucs will play with spirit but I think the better team will win. Give me Steelers 24 – Buccaneers 14. Steelers win and cover.

Jacksonville vs San Diego (-12); 4:05pm, CBS, DirecTV 712

Ryan Matthews is out with a knee injury for the Chargers. However, 12 points a big spread for anyone but it’s appropriate because Blake Bortles is making his first NFL start on the road. I like the Chargers to go about their business and win 33-13.

Atlanta (-4) vs Minnesota; 4:25pm, FOX, DirecTV 713

Adrian Peterson is out, Teddy Bridgewater will play for the injured Matt Cassel. Bridgewater will make his first NFL start. I like Atlanta 21-17. Win and push.

Philadelphia vs San Francisco (-4); 4:25pm, FOX, DirecTV 714

The 49ers are a 1st half team. Philadelphia is a 2nd half team. I love Nick Foles as QB, I like Chip Kelly’s offense. I also believe San Francisco being installed as a 4 point favorite is a bit of a rouse. They’ve wilted in big spots early this season. I kiss my teeth (showing disapproval for anything, it’s a term commonly used in the United Kingdom) at the MGM Grand for making this line at 4. This game might be a bloodbath for the Willie Mays Hayes sports book. I’m going against the grain: Eagles 31 – 49ers 28. Yes, the Eagles will win outright!

New Orleans (-3) vs Dallas; 8:30pm on NBC

Dallas is another consistently inconsistent team. I think the Saints have righted their ship and have gotten things going. Last year’s game was an anomaly with the Saints laying waste to the Cowboys 49-17. Don’t read too much into that. Dallas has lots of talent and the Saints this season is weaker at cornerback. It may be a high scoring game and I’ll tread that way. Give me the Saints 35-34. Saints win and will not cover the spread.

New England (-3 1/2) vs Kansas City, Monday Night Football on ESPN, 8:30pm
Patriots 35 – Chiefs 24.
