The last time I went to an Atlanta Dream game, I was pregnant with my now 7 year old. Wow! Time flies. My second time attending an Atlanta Dream game was Friday night for the website release of my dear friend Tiara Johnson. It was a TLJ Night Out and the Atlanta Dream has come a long way from what I remember. Friday’s game was the last home game of the season as well as fan appreciation night.
The organization gets major points for their fan engagement. From the announcer, to the music, the mascot, the dancers and the games, it was a fun experience. I wasn’t too impressed with the actual game because WNBA doesn’t hold my interest. To compare the Dream to the Hawks isn’t fair; however, I do believe that they can be on the same level.
The second time around was more memorable and I went with my son. He had the same takeaway. He wasn’t too impressed but it beat staying at home. The upside for him was being able to get new Hawks gear. We won gift cards to Hard Rock Café, Star and Strikes coupons and we took a group photo on the court. It was an inexpensive way to spend quality time with my son even if it didn’t meet his expectations. It was a great TLJ Night Out!
